THE GLITTERATI

I was reading this months issue of Asos magazine, suddenly to find myself coming across an article that said;

'If you haven't seen last years movie The Runaways yet, then take this as your warning: Joan Jett and '70s glam-rock icons are inspiring a major fashion moment. Jean Paul Gaultier and Marios Schwab both put models in Joan Jett mullet wigs, leather jackets and trousers juxaposed with delicate lace. Richard Nicoll referenced David Bowie's Thin White Duke era with sheer tops, pleated skirts and bomber jackets - elegant but tough. This trend looks set for longevity too. Christophe Decarnin's Balmain A/W'11 collection had a definite feeling of Ziggy Stardust. Dip into the trend with a metallic leather-lapelled blazer or platforms.'

Introduction

Hi, my name is Lydia and I created this blog about 'music and fashion'. I am a big fan of glitter rock, punk rock and hard rock. David Bowie is probably my 'style icon', along with Joan Jett and Debbie Harry. My main goal is to put together floral print and 70's glam rock. I imagine a flowery field and people with afros and silver platform boots. When I can gather some materials together, I will make some designs and show you what I mean. Until then...
